Description After you visit all the castle ruins on the top of the mountain take the path down the opposite side from where you came up and you'll pass this three story pagoda of Sokenji Temple. Built in 1454 it is older than Azuchi Castle and a designated National Important Cultural Property. It is said that Nobunaga posiitoned the castle such that this temple would be part of the castle complex reflecting the style of European castles. He learned about this from a missionary to Japan.
