| Description | At the top of the slope mentioned on the previous page is this Tonashi gate you see in front and a larger gate called Tsutsui gate on the right. It is an original structure and designated Important Cultural Property. Tonashi literally means no door. It is thought that this gate was a trick to get the enemy in a smaller confined area where it would be easier to attack them. Notice the Taiko yagura in the background. |
