| Description | This is a picture of the Yagura Gate as seen from inside the Honmaru. The picture on the first page is facing the Yagura Gate from the Ninomaru. This Yagura Gate is the only existing honmaru yagura style gate in the Kanto area. This Yagure Gate was built in 1656 and held a large taiko drum in the second floor which was beaten to tell the time. For that reason it was also called a Taiko Yagura. |
