Castles are not limited to these three concentric baileys, but often have other baileys inside these three or baileys connected to the outside. This picture is of the Nishi no maru (west bailey) at Himeji-jo. It is connected to the outside of the main bailey structure. On the right you see where part of the wall is a tamon yagura and on the upper left there is a 2 storey sumi-yagura in the corner.
