History
Shōtokuji-yakata was the fortified manor hall of Takeda Nobunawa, 17th patriarch of the Kai-Genji Clan and 14th head of the Takeda Clan. Nobunawa was the father of Nobutora and the grandfather of Harunobu (Takeda Shingen). Nobunawa's father, Nobumasa, lived nearby at the Ochiai-yakata. Shōtokuji-yakata was likely established sometime between 1491 when Nobumasa retired and 1507 when Nobunawa died.
Nobunawa took over from his father upon the latter's retirement, but he was opposed by his brother, Aburakawa Nobue, and others, and when his father died a massive fight broke out between them - like with soldiers and stuff. Nobunawa was never in good health, and the civil strife in Kai is said to have took a toll on his health, and he died at 37. He was, however, followed by a son, Nobutora, who defeated his uncle Nobue (though Nobutora must've been only a sprog at the time).

There is an area called Shōtokuji (正徳寺) and a yakata (medieval fortified manor hall) once stood at the site of the temple Shōtokuji (聖徳寺). I noted the tempe hall and a large cemetery, but at the time I didn't realise that a cenotaph stands here for Takeda Nobunawa (or it is at least said to be his grave marker) as I didn't find information on the site at the time (turns out the site has multiple names so it was hard to dredge up information on, but the jyokakuzukan blog later came to my rescue). It appears that no ruins remain and a railway, the Chūō Main Line, runs through the site.
