The Oribe-yashiki was the fortified residence of Yabe Oribe in Nagasawa Valley during the late Sengoku period. Oribe was a vassal of the Nagasawa-Matsudaira and served Tokugawa Ieyasu as one of the Nagasawa Twelve. He was known to be a warrior skilled with a spear.

Visit Notes

The site of Yabe-Oribe-yashiki, a fortified residence site beneath the site of Nagasawa Castle, is now fields and a railroad. There is a neighbouring house with tall, modern ishigaki. Modern housing encroaches this site near the station.
